BM2 Intervention

The basic module 2 comprises two seminars. One seminar aims to teach techniques of counseling and case management in rehabilitation. In this seminar, students will learn in particularly the legal basics of SGB IX, as well as basics about the service providers in the Social Security Codes V, VI, VII, VIII and XII. The students will be informed about the basics of social medicine and practice case management in rehabilitation.

Parallel to the basic module 2, a seminar on psychotherapeutic methods takes place. Here, the two guideline methods of behavior therapy and depth psychology-based psychotherapy are to be taught as a form of intervention. Students should be enabled to include the treatment indication of psychotherapeutic methods in rehabilitation management. In this context, students should become familiar with the care structures of outpatient, day-care and inpatient offers of psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens. Complementary to the curative care system, in particular the offers of medical rehabilitation in psychosomatics in childhood, adolescence and adulthood as well as in seniors should be taught.

Exam - BM 2

The basic module 2 has a special practical orientation. Thus, in the seminar on psychological disorders, a day of hospitation in rehabilitation facilities of the Center for Psychotraumatology/Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine at the Alexianer Krefeld GmbH is made possible. There is a preparation of the emergency consultation at the Center for Psychotraumatology.  Under the guidance of the therapists there, patients of the so-called emergency consultation are examined. The observation of this examination forms the basis for the writing of a case report, which exemplifies the diagnosis of a mental disorder, the differential diagnostic clarification, as well as the description of the case pattern in the bio-psychosocial model of the ICF. In essence, a needs assessment and participation planning based on the curative treatment approaches should take place. This case report is essential for the assignment of credit points in the Basic Module Examination II.
