EM 1 internship module
The supplementary module is a compulsory module that can only be studied in the "major" subject. An internship must be completed as part of the "major" subject. If students have not previously gained any practical experience, the professional field-oriented internship module (BPM) in the major subject is recommended.
If initial practical professional field experience has already been gained, students are advised to complete a research internship (FPM).
Students can choose whether to complete a research or professional field internship. The internship comprises 180 hours and can be completed in the form of block internships during the lecture-free period and/or internships alongside the course. Before starting the internship, written registration with - and confirmation of the relevance of the internship by the module coordinator is required.
Professional field internship
During the professional field internship, students gain an insight into a field of work in rehabilitative practice or an institution that can be assigned to the subject. The internship should also provide students with orientation for their own career planning and for the further design of their studies.

Research internship
The students independently work on a question in rehabilitation sciences using scientific research methods. The topic of the scientific work, which is assigned to one of the modules of the subject, is agreed with the module coordinator. The students independently work on a question and research design for a topic in rehabilitation sciences under the supervision of a teacher, which can be worked on within the self-study period (180 hours).
The students write an internship report in which planning, implementation and evaluation are documented. This includes critical reflection on their own scientific actions.
