Basic module "Preparation for the practical semester

Nature of the test
The module final examination forms an outline of a planned study project.

Formal and content-related examination requirements
The outline should comprise between 12,000 and 18,000 characters and be based on the standard scheme for scientific work. As a rule, project outlines describe experiments that serve to document and evaluate support for children and young people with learning difficulties. Of course, the text cannot yet contain a description of the results. Irrespective of this, it should explain what methodological procedure is planned, what results are expected and what restrictions are to be expected from the outset of the project.

Period of the examination
The "technical" examination dates (submission dates for project outlines) are set by the Examination Office. The teachers, on the other hand, determine the actual submission dates. These are usually 01.03. or 01.09.

Aim of the examination

The aim of the examination is to document the ability to plan a small research project competently, which can be carried out under the conditions of regular school life and which delivers meaningful results.

Criteria for evaluating the test

The grade "very good" is awarded for performance that is conspicuously above the usual level. The text is structured very logically. The structure corresponds without any restrictions to the usual scheme for scientific papers. The prescribed scope is perfectly adhered to. The bibliography consists exclusively of references to relevant and high-quality publications. The significance of the subject of the study outline is derived and justified with impressive clarity. The introduction is an extraordinarily stringent introduction from a general theoretical and empirical background to a specific question. The problem is formulated in a way that corresponds very well to the current state of research. The outline of the target group, the survey instruments and the experimental design is extremely precise. The selected design can be described as absolutely appropriate. The text follows the guidelines for manuscript design of the DGPs in every respect. The language is scientifically objective and free of spelling and grammar errors.

The grade "good" is awarded for performance that is clearly above the usual level. The text meets most of the criteria for very good project outlines. However, small concessions must be made at one point or another.

The grade "satisfactory" is awarded for achievements which correspond to an acceptable level. The text meets several criteria for very good project outlines. However, some concessions must be made at various points.

The grade "sufficient" is awarded for performance which corresponds to a still acceptable level. The text is more or less far removed from the criteria for very good project outlines in various respects.

The grade "poor" is awarded for performance which corresponds to an unsatisfactory level. The text meets low standards. It does not meet the quality criteria described above.

The grade "unsatisfactory" is awarded for performances which correspond to a completely inadequate level. None of the quality criteria described above is fulfilled in an acceptable way.

Notification of the examination result
The entry of the module grade in KLIPS 2.0 takes place no later than the deadline for booking (30.04. or 31.10.).

Value of the examination
The module grade for the overall grade is 8/120.

Possibilities of repeating the examination

The examination can be repeated twice.
