Focus Module 2 “Lesson Planning and Evaluation”

Type of examination

The module examination is a term paper (2 credit points). By the end of the seminars “Lesson Planning” and “Lesson Evaluation”, students prepare one concept paper on lesson planning and one on curriculum-based measurement (CBM), including an item or item-sampling example. Both papers must meet the minimum standards specified in the respective courses; only then can the credit points be recorded and the module examination be taken. The quality of the two concept papers does not count towards the examination grade.

Examination period

Submission is due on the examination date listed in KLIPS 2.0.

Aim of the examination

The examination documents the ability to plan a series of lessons for a specific target group on the basis of sound theories and findings and to assess its effects competently using diagnostic methods.

Prerequisites for participation

Students must have attended the seminars “Lesson Planning” and “Lesson Evaluation” and have 2 credit points recorded for each.

Registration and deregistration

You can deregister from the examination via KLIPS 2.0 without giving reasons up to two weeks before the notional examination date. An e-mail to the secretary's office or to the lecturers does not replace deregistration via KLIPS 2.0. After this deadline, deregistration is no longer possible without a valid reason; failure to attend will then be counted as a failed attempt. If you cannot take the examination for a valid reason, you must immediately send the Examinations Office an e-mail with a document stating the reason (e.g. a medical certificate). Please send it directly to the Examinations Office (c.eith@uni-koeln.de) and copy in our student assistants' office (shk-lb@uni-koeln.de). Please note that only the Examinations Office can cancel your registration.

Assessment criteria

Points are awarded for the examination tasks. Grading follows the grading scale of the Examination Regulations of the University of Cologne for the Master of Education, Teacher Training for Special Educational Needs.

Notification of results

You will be informed of your result via KLIPS 2.0. Grades are usually posted during the lecture-free period and no later than the beginning of the lecture period of the following semester.

Weighting

The module grade counts 6/18 towards the overall grade.

Resits

The examination can be repeated twice.
