PC Pools Gronewaldstraße 2 (Building 216A)
Equipment
Student workstation PCs in rooms 2.119A and 2.119B run Windows 11 and are equipped with non-reflective 23.8-inch monitors (16:9). All workstations have height-adjustable seating. A detailed overview of installed software can be found here.
Room 2.119A (12 workstations)

- 12 Dell AIO PCs – i5 CPU, 16 GB RAM, 23.8-inch monitor
- 3 laptop workstations – 24-inch monitor, USB-C 3.1 with DP Alt Mode (incl. charging), located at the rear of the room
Instructor PC (GSCIP055):
- i5-13500, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
- 75-inch Sony display with 100-watt speakers
- Classroom management: NetopVision Pro
- 27-inch Dell monitor with retractable 4K webcam (hybrid teaching enabled)
Room 2.119B (26 workstations)


- 26 Dell AIO PCs – i5 CPU, 16 GB RAM, 23.8-inch monitor
- 4 laptop workstations (BYOD) – 24-inch monitor, USB-C 3.1 with DP Alt Mode, mouse and keyboard, marked with BYOD labels (incl. charging)
Special equipment in room 2.119B:
- Accessible workstations: PC “GSCIP0AI” and “Laptop workstation BYOD 02” are positioned on electrically height-adjustable tables accessible by wheelchair.
- Instructor PC (GSCIP052):
- i5-13500, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
- Dual-axis projector
- Classroom management: NetopVision Pro
- Extron media control with HDMI input for laptops
- 27-inch Dell monitor with retractable 4K webcam (hybrid teaching enabled)
Login and File Storage
Log in using your University of Cologne student or staff account – the same credentials as for webmail, ILIAS or KLIPS.
After logging in, the SOFS storage system is available automatically:
- Access it via This PC → S:
- Files saved to drive S: are retained after logout and securely transferred to the SOFS cloud.
- Files stored in SOFS are accessible from any university PC – further information at the RRZK.
- Important: Files saved to the Desktop, Downloads, Documents or any other default system location will be permanently deleted on logout.
Printing
A printer provided by Digitexx is available in the PC Pool Frangenheimstraße 4, Room M01A. Credit must be loaded in advance via the Kuario app (PayPal, credit card, etc.). Further printer locations and app instructions are available on the USB website. For technical issues please contact support@kuario.com directly – this service is not maintained by the Centre for Networks and Media.
