All PCs are consistently labeled (the first computer is called FSCIP01, the last one FSCIP28) for better identification.
PCs with special equipment features in M0.1:
- Workstations with larger screens: the PCs FSCIP02 and FSCIP28 are equipped with 23-inch (16:9) monitors.
- Instructor PC: the demonstration PC FSCIP-00 is intended for instructors. The equipment includes:
- 1080p video projector
- Powerful 120-watt stereo speakers
- Extron media control with HDMI connection option for laptops
All PCs in the room have an extensive curated selection of software for student work, research, and teaching.
A detailed overview of the installed software licenses can be found here.
Usage/Login to the PCs
Login to the computers is done directly in the AD domain using the student or staff account. The login credentials are the same as those for Webmail, ILIAS, or Klips.
After successful login, users of the pool automatically have access to the SOFS storage system of the University of Cologne.
- All files saved by the user on the personalized drive letter S: remain available even after logging out from the computer. Documents successfully saved on this drive are securely transferred to the SOFS cloud during saving.
- These files in the personalized SOFS drive can also be accessed from any other PC. For this purpose, thematic research on the RRZK pages is recommended.
- Please note: All files saved on the desktop or in locations other than the SOFS drive are deleted upon logout for space reasons. Therefore, use the SOFS drive with the letter S: to secure your documents.
