COLLABORATION WITH THE SOCIETY FOR AIDED COMMUNICATION
For several years now, our department has been collaborating with the Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. As part of this collaboration, students have been able to earn an introductory certificate in AAC within the SM2 bachelor’s module for special education teacher training. For this purpose, sessions on the theoretical foundations of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) are designed by faculty members of our department, followed by practice-oriented sessions led by AAC experts, during which students can learn about and experiment with a wide variety of AAC methods. For more information on the Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication, visit the GESUK website.
