INTERACTION BETWEEN SCIENCE AND PRACTICE

The scientific findings from our research activities always have a direct impact on the quality of life of people with intellectual and complex disabilities. Our research results highlight innovative methods and approaches that expand and improve the opportunities for participation and education for this group of people. This requires dedicated and qualified support professionals. Working with them to develop and test practical approaches is therefore a central goal of our research. Without active exchange between science and practice, many of these findings would remain confined to academic discourse and would thus be of no practical use.

In this context, mutual exchange between academia and practice is particularly important. It is not only about academia bringing findings into practice, but also about practice providing valuable input for research. Regular collaborations with schools, associations, and disability support organizations ensure that research findings flow directly into practice. At the same time, professionals from the field contribute their experiences and the specific needs they encounter in their daily work. This feedback helps us identify practice-relevant questions and needs and develop solutions that meet the actual requirements in the field. This creates a mutually enriching exchange that continuously improves both research and educational work.
