Bachelor’s in Music Mediation
The program imparts knowledge of the fundamental content, methodological tools, a systematic orientation, and basic practical musical skills, which are taught through group instruction. In selected areas and subfields of Music Mediation and musicology, studies are deepened through case studies. Additionally, with regard to various practical fields of Music Mediation, emphasis is placed on practical music skills, concert pedagogy, and media-specific aspects.
By studying an additional bachelor’s major from the curriculum of the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Philosophy, students have the opportunity to develop an individual profile within both an educational and a cultural studies context or professional field. Music Mediation is part of a dual-major Bachelor’s program and comprises a primary and a secondary major.
The Music Mediation major can be combined with:
- any dual-major bachelor’s program in the Faculty of Humanities
- any dual-major bachelor’s program in the Faculty of Philosophy (except Musicology)

The standard duration of study is six semesters.
Note: It is not possible to select the “Music Mediation” specialization module in combination with the subject Educational Sciences.

Music Mediation is part of a dual-major master’s program and comprises a primary and a secondary major.
The Music Mediation major can be combined with:
- a subject in Educational Science (General Educational Science | Early Childhood Education and Development | Adult Education/Continuing Education | Intercultural Communication and Education)
- the subject Intermedia
- a subject from the Faculty of Philosophy (excluding Musicology)

Exams
The examination regulations govern the basic structures of the respective degree programs. They contain guidelines regarding the examinations to be taken and specify the academic degree to be awarded upon successful completion of the final examinations. Students are required to read and adhere to the examination regulations.

Examiners
In general, all professors (including junior and adjunct professors) and lecturers teaching in your field are authorized to administer exams. Additionally, research assistants may also be granted exam administration authorization upon request. You can find an overview of authorized examiners here. The Examination Office can assist you with any formal questions.
