Project summary:
From April 2019 to March 2022, researchers will record the professional competences of teachers in schools and adult education when teaching German as a second language in linguistically heterogeneous learning groups. The project thus addresses the special demands on teaching and didactics that have arisen across educational sectors due to newly immigrated children, young people and adults. The research takes place in a real teaching context with teachers in preparatory classes and integration courses.
The interdisciplinary project team includes experts in adult education/continuing education, specialised didactics of German/German as a second language, empirical educational research, linguistics, computational linguistics and psychology. The majority of the project positions are held by doctoral students, which places a special emphasis on promoting young researchers.
