Current Events:

"Wondrous Relations. A Festival of Arts, Education & Ecology"

September 7–9, 2026, Orangerie Theater, Volksgartenstr. 25, 50677 Cologne

Over the past two and a half years, the EcoLit project has explored what it means to live and learn in a world of interconnected relationships. For us, being in relationship means understanding ourselves as part of life on this planet, its development, and its future. What does this mean for the arts, for education, and for ecological thinking? We’d like to discuss this with you, other researchers, artists, educators, and interested individuals—through music, poetry, and forms of learning that express care, attentiveness, awareness, and resonance.

Conference “Music, Migration, Diversity: Musical Practices in Pluralistic Societies”

Conference of the Commission for the Study of Folk Musical Cultures within the German Society for Empirical Cultural Studies (DGEKW) e.V.

October 23–24, 2026, Faculty of Human Sciences, Gronewaldstr. 2, 50931 Cologne

Migration and diversity entail societal changes that have received significant attention in recent years and are also relevant in musical contexts. Time and again, the influence of migration and cultural exchange on musical practices becomes evident—in musical styles, in diaspora communities, or in inclusive approaches to music education. Please register for the conference by September 30, 2026, by contacting Elias Sotomayor (he/him): elias.sotomayor@uni-koeln.de
