Commission for the Research of Musical Folk Cultures

The Commission for the Research of Musical Folk Cultures is a work group of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft (DGEKW) e.V., which focuses particularly on music cultures from a distinct ethnographic perspective. Since the establishment of the work group in 1965 – under the name "Commission for Folk Song and Folk Dance" – several functions within the group such as chair, management board and administration have regularly been assumed by members of the Institute.
