Research at the Chair

At our chair, we develop and evaluate interventions for children and young people with learning disabilities, particularly in reading, writing and mathematics. Many of our studies take place directly in the classroom, often as controlled single-case studies and increasingly as group comparisons and mixed-methods studies. A particular focus is on multilingual learners and on how effective support can be put into practice under everyday school conditions.

Methodological profile

A particular strength lies in controlled single-case experimental designs, which allow intervention effects to be tested with small and heterogeneous groups under everyday school conditions. In addition, we use group comparisons, meta-analyses, latent profile and transition analyses as well as qualitative and mixed-methods approaches.

We publish our findings in peer-reviewed journals, open access wherever possible.
