I have fundamental questions about the Master program. Can I get answers from the secretary's office or the student assistant office of the department?
No. There are special contact points at our university that will competently deal with your basic questions. Depending on your concerns, this may be the central student advisory service , the ZfL and/or the SSC Heilpädagogik . Please refer to the websites of these institutions to find the right contact person for your questions quickly. It is also advisable to familiarize yourself with the module handbook and the Examination Regulations.
I did not get a place in a particular Master's course via KLIPS. Is there still a possibility to take part in it?
Maybe. It is very important to us to do our part to ensure that your studies with us run smoothly and that you benefit from our lectures and seminars. However, it is not always possible for us to meet all requests for places. Distribution is via the KLIPS web portal. If you have not been able to obtain a place in your desired course via this programme, you can still attend the first session. We will then distribute any free places that may still be available on the waiting list generated by KLIPS. However, there is no guarantee of a fixed place. Unfortunately, we sometimes cannot avoid having to put you off until the next semester.
A particular Master's course is offered more than once. Can I change from one to another?
Maybe. This is possible if you can organize an exchange partner yourself. Otherwise, you will be treated in the first session of the course in the same way as those students who have not been allocated a place. This means that you may still be assigned a place in the move-up procedure. However, there is no guarantee of a fixed place. If you are assigned a place in the move-up procedure, please make sure that you cancel your registration for the original course.
I cannot participate in the first date of a Master event. Is it still possible to keep my fixed place?
Yes, participation in the first session of an event is mandatory. Students who do not attend on this date lose their right to a fixed place. However, for good reasons (illness or similar), it is possible to apologise to the lecturers by e-mail. It goes without saying that this must be done before the start of the first session, as any free places may be allocated to students on the waiting list at the beginning of the course.
Can Master courses from one module be taken in different semesters?
Yes, however, contents from both corresponding courses are relevant for the module examinations. It is your responsibility to inform yourself about the current contents and requirements of the module final examinations. By submitting the two performance certificates before the module final examination, you ensure that you have attended both courses.
I am in the Bachelor program. Can I still attend courses of the Master program?
No. Participation in courses from the Master programme in the Support Focus Learning is reserved for Master students. The ZfL sometimes grants conditional admission to the Master program upon application. If you have been granted conditional admission and have been allocated a place in one of our courses via KLIPS 2.0, you must present all the evidence required for final admission to the Master programme to your lecturer without being asked by the second session at the latest. Otherwise, participation is not possible.
I have been admitted to the Master program with reservations, although I have not yet been credited with any credits from the Bachelor program. Will my achievements from the Master programme be recognised even if I am downgraded to the Bachelor programme due to my failing examinations?
No. If you apply to ZfL for conditional admission to the Master program, you do so at your own risk. If you are downgraded to the Bachelor program, you will have to start the Master program from scratch.
I would like to write my Bachelor thesis with a member of the department. Is this possible?
No. At our chair we are responsible for the Master programme in the Support Focus Learning. Therefore, we only take over the supervision of Master theses.
I would like to write my Master thesis with a member of the chair. Is that possible?
Yes. Just get in touch with us. In this context, please note our instructions for writing Master theses.
Should I check promptly whether my work has been booked correctly?
Yes, you should do so no later than three months after your final module examination. As a rule, however, registration takes place much earlier. Despite the enormous number of exams, the booking is almost always done without any problems. Nevertheless, in individual cases it can happen that an error occurs. Therefore, please check your entries as soon as this has been done. The later a complaint reaches us, the more difficult it is to reconstruct the processes exactly.
I have a special request with regard to an upcoming module final examination. Who should I contact?
To the person in our team who is responsible for the module in question (see Staff ). However, please first try to find answers to your questions on the basis of the information on our homepage, in the module handbook or in the examination regulations themselves.
Can I borrow tests or support materials from the chair?
No. You can borrow tests from the Testothek of the Faculty of Human Sciences, materials e.g. in the Learning Workshop .
I have to have a form of the Testothek signed by the chair holder to be able to borrow a test that I need for my Master thesis or my project in the internship. Is it possible to get the signature quickly and easily?
Yes, just come to our office during opening hours. It is not necessary to call or write an email in advance.
