The Depression at Age Scale (DIA-S)
Within the project, the Depression at Age Scale (DIA-S) was developed and validated on a sample of 331 geriatric inpatients.
The DIA-S is a short screening procedure consisting of ten simple questions that is particularly suitable for the diagnosis of multimorbid patients. Due to the context-free formulation of the items, the instrument can be used in numerous settings. In a first validation study, the DIA-S showed higher values in sensitivity, specificity and internal consistency than the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS).
