ADHD Training for Students with ADHD

First and foremost, we would like to mention the ADHD Training for Students with ADHD at the University of Cologne. For more information and contact details, please visit:

In addition, we would like to highlight other resources that interested individuals and those affected—including those outside the University of Cologne—can turn to.

This collection is limited to the greater Cologne area and North Rhine-Westphalia and does not claim to be exhaustive.

Self-help groups

("Self-help groups are self-organized associations of people who share a common problem or concern and wish to take collective action to address it. Typical issues include coping with chronic or rare illnesses, life crises, and/or stressful social situations. The number of self-help groups in Germany is estimated at 70,000–100,000. According to the Robert Koch Institute’s 2003 telephone health survey, approximately 9% of the adult population were or are members of a self-help group.” Wikipedia)

Recommended Reading

Finally, we would like to list a few recommended readings on the topic:

(The order of the works is random and does not imply any ranking)

In line with our project, we have focused on literature addressing ADHD in adults. A far greater number of books can certainly be found on ADHD in children and adolescents.

In addition to the author(s), title, and publisher, we also indicate whether the book is currently available for loan at the Cologne City Library (as of the date of research: March 19, 2010). This is intended to facilitate the search. It is worth noting that only three of the listed works are not available for loan at the Cologne City Library.
