Teaching/Courses
The Centre offers a range of courses and seminars that are either directly integrated into degree programmes of the Faculty or can be attended as part of the Studium Integrale. In addition, training sessions for smaller groups can be arranged on request. Current dates for the courses listed below can be found in the KLIPS system.
Teacher Training Programme – Special Education
Computer-Assisted Teaching
The consistent and effective use of computer-assisted learning can be an important element in promoting student competencies, particularly in the context of inclusion. This course combines face-to-face sessions and practical exercises, supplemented by online content. It is offered as a small-group seminar based on demand.
Advanced Module – Master's Programme
Media Use in Inclusive Education
This course is aimed at students wishing to explore questions of technology use in special education in greater depth. The series consists of 2 consecutive seminars. This first seminar addresses practical questions around the use of new technologies in special education. Topics cover both media literacy instruction and strategies for developing participants' own digital competencies, tailored to the interests of each group.
Media Use in Inclusive Education – Focus: Podcast
This course introduces the practical fundamentals of podcast production in a school context. Working in project groups, participants develop podcast episodes and accompanying teaching materials on topics from their own area of special education. The focus is on production and design: from recording techniques with Audacity and audio fundamentals to didactic design and video podcast/Educast creation. All contributions are evaluated for their suitability for inclusive learning groups, and digital assessment materials are developed.
Media Use in Inclusive Education – Focus: Video
This course begins with the theoretical and practical fundamentals of audio and video production for school settings.
The course then focuses on digital video production, covering:
- Digital video technology
- Camera work and image composition
- Working with a non-linear video editing system (NLE)
- Digital post-production and export formats
Certificate: Digital Teaching and Learning Methods
Each semester, the Centre for Networks and Media offers a limited number of students the opportunity to participate in a certificate course in digital learning media production and interactive assessment design. Across four milestones, participants independently develop multimedia learning content: podcast production (Audacity), original illustrations, Educast video, and an interactive learning unit using H5P and an ILIAS assessment. Accompanying topics include OER, audiovisual design and digital examination formats.
ICDL: Digital Skills for Study and Career
This block seminar provides practical preparation for the module examinations of the ICDL – the internationally recognised standard for digital literacy skills. Topics covered include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Computer & Online Essentials and IT Security. Certification exams can subsequently be taken at the HF ICDL Test Centre at reduced rates. Upon passing, credit points may be awarded within the Studium Integrale.
