Meine Sprechstunde findet in der Vorlesungszeit dienstags zwischen 14:00 und 15.00 Uhr in Raum 02.3 (Herbert-Lewin-Haus / EG) statt. Es bedarf keiner Anmeldung.

Tim Engartner is Professor of Social Sciences with a focus on economic education and vice-director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Empirical Research on Teachers and Teaching (IZeF). He studied social sciences and economics as well as English in Bonn, Oxford and Cologne before taking his second state examination (2005) and receiving his doctorate from the University of Cologne (2008). He then worked at the Institute for Comparative Educational Research and Social Sciences there. In 2009, he moved to the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he finally held a junior professorship for economic education, before being appointed as professor for economics and its didactics at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd. Before moving to the University of Cologne, Mr Engartner held the professorship for the didactics of social sciences at the Department of Social Sciences at Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, where he was also the director of the Academy for Educational Research and Teacher Training. Tim Engartner received the German Study Award (2006), the Gregor Louisoder Environmental Foundation Award (2008), the Science Award of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Saxony (2009) and the 1822 University Award for Excellent Teaching (2014). In 2015 he was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, and in 2019 a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. He has completed study and research stays funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, the European Parliament, the Hans Boeckler Foundation and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Engartner is a member of the Leibniz-Society Berlin, the Centre for Economic and Sociological Studies at Hamburg University and a Senior Fellow of the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung. From 2016 to 2022 he used to be the founding spokesperson for the Association for Socio-Economic Education and Research (ASEER). Finally, he is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Pluralism and Economics Education as well as the advisory board of the journal „Gesellschaft - Wirtschaft – Politik“. His articles have been published in various national newspapers such as Die Zeit, Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
