We are the GSD+ student council

GSD stands for “sign language interpreting.” As interpreters, we translate one language into another, usually in spontaneous communication situations. Interpreting involves more than just one language, which is what the “+” in our name stands for.
The student council was founded on January 16, 2019, to represent the interests of students.

Our most important tasks are:

- Representing student interests to the university
- Networking students within and outside the program 
(for example, through activities at the HumFestival or events such as the “DGS Movie Night”)
-    Advising prospective students
-    Promoting the increased use of DGS at UzK

We, the GSD+ student council, would like to offer the following program for our first-year students this year:

City rally through Cologne
October 6, 2025, 1 p.m.

Campus tour with all the important locations for GSD+ students
October 8, 2025, 1 p.m.
Meeting point: Universitätsstr. train station

Freshers' picnic
November 11, 2025, 1 p.m.
Meeting point: Universitätsstr. train station
Alternative in case of bad weather:
Meeting point: Signcafe
