General Information
As an interdisciplinary institution within the Media Network, the Learning Workshop undertakes training and continuing education tasks in teacher education and professional development. Its content focuses, on the one hand, on theoretical reflection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of student-centered teaching and learning methods, and, on the other hand, on addressing current issues in school and instructional development.
In recent years, the Learning Workshop has also established itself as a nationally recognized and effective professional development institution.

Workspace
The Learning Workshop is located on the first floor of City-Passage, Dürener Str. 89. Here, visitors can use our facilities. Didactic materials for various subjects and support areas are available to them. Additionally, there is the option to borrow diagnostic tools and support programs. In addition to ample workspaces, you have the option to use a work computer.
- Usage
The learning workshop is not intended merely as a library but is designed to encourage active engagement with the available materials. In addition to generally browsing and testing the materials, you can also plan specific lessons or seminars here. For this purpose, various consumables (e.g., cardboard, flipchart paper—for use only within the Learning Workshop) and equipment (e.g., laminator, binding machine—for a small fee) are available.
The staff of the Learning Workshop are happy to assist users with advice during opening hours.

Workshops
The workshops, which run throughout the semester, generally take place on Mondays at 5:45 p.m. The target audience includes students, teachers from all school types, student teachers, certified educators, and other interested individuals. Experienced facilitators present current, proven, and innovative concepts, thereby encouraging participants to engage with new topics. The aim is to foster the exchange of ideas and thoughts among participants from various educational professions.

Research Focus
The Learning Workshop focuses on the current state of research in the field of didactics. The primary focus is on student-centered learning approaches. Against this backdrop, the Learning Workshop develops guidelines for selecting didactic materials based on the current state of research.
