Research Network “Family Language Policies—Linguistic Repertoires, Practices, and Ideologies” (2024–2027)
The goal of the proposed research network is to consolidate and further develop German-language research in the field of family language policies—which has thus far been largely unsystematic—including research on related social practices and societal language ideologies.

The family as the primary site of socialization and as a lens (not as a fixed construct) through which issues of language acquisition, social reciprocity, and language policy phenomena become visible.
Three focal areas:
Family language policies in various language and family constellations,
- at the transition between families and educational institutions, and
in the context of crises and conflicts
