Chair in Educational Science with a Focus on Early Childhood Education
The professorship focuses on educational research questions relating to education and childhood within the context of families, childcare centres and schools, against the backdrop of inequalities in migration societies. These issues are addressed through regional and international research projects, networks and collaborations, drawing on migration and family research, qualitative educational and biographical research, as well as multi-sited ethnographies. Central topics in teaching, research and transfer include family migration and transnational educational biographies, children’s experiences of inclusion and exclusion during educational transitions, language policy in multilingual families and in (trans-)national educational institutions, and translanguaging as a critical research methodology and inclusive approach to pedagogical professionalisation.
