Symposium "Cripping Reproductive Justice. Rethinking the Futures of Reproduction", October 13 & 14, 2025 in Barcelona

The symposium “Cripping Reproductive Justice: Rethinking Reproductive Futures” will be held in Barcelona on October 13 and 14, 2025, coordinated by Dr. Hannah Gibson and Dr. Laura Sanmiquel of the AFIN group. The event will bring together experts, academics, and activists to reflect on the intersection of disability and reproductive justice, with special attention to the first-person experiences of people with disabilities. The symposium will feature an opening keynote address by Dr. Alison Kafer, Embrey Associate Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Texas, and a participatory workshop that will use speculative narrative as a form of resistance and methodological tool.
