Profile

The research focus deals with theoretical and historical questions regarding the definition of the subject matter pertaining to a life-course oriented pedagogy in relation to childhood, adolescence and family up to adulthood. Empirically, formal, non-formal and informal learning and educational processes, questions of institutionalization, professionalization (especially didactics), as well as the individual (especially cognitive), social, familial and generational conditions of a life-course oriented pedagogy are investigated.

  • Theory building and phenomenological research on (trans)cultural education, ESD and professionalization in early childhood contexts.
  • Learning processes, diagnosis, and intervention for learning difficulties in contexts of basic language and literacy education.
  • Educational processes of adults in the multi-level system of continuing education.
