In principle, you can record the content of individual courses in video and audio format and then embed them as videos in ILIAS. There are simple options, such as recording a PowerPoint presentation with audio. Students could also do this at home using their laptops. In addition, there are "more advanced" options.

1. Recording a class session

For this, you essentially have three practical options:

A. Recording your own PowerPoint presentation with an additional audio track

You can do this from your home office on your own laptop.

We’ll show you how this works on Microsoft Windows operating systems in this video:

Apple users can find instructions for recording presentations on a Mac here.

B. Recording your presentation in a lecture hall equipped for automatic lecture recording.

On the North Campus, Lecture Hall 124 and Lecture Hall 161 will be available for recording and live streaming during the summer semester.

The RRZK has approved the lecture halls for this purpose and provided the following instructions:

The steps described in the instructions must be completed in advance by the respective course instructor on ILIAS.

Further information and answers to frequently asked questions can be found on these pages of the Computer Center.

C. Recording your presentation in our One Button Recording Studio

With our One Button Studio, you have more options for recording, such as the use of a document camera. Detailed information about the OBRS and booking options can be found here.

2. Integrating your recording into an ILIAS course

If students are also supposed to record their presentations/papers as described in A. and upload the videos to the course, please check the box for "Upload by members" in the form.

If you receive an error message when uploading a file, please try uploading it using Google Chrome.

3. Using additional ILIAS features to improve the online course experience

Comprehensive and clearly organized help for ILIAS can be found in the ILIAS E-Learning Manual.
