The prior history of CEfAS

Founded in June 2008, the Center for Aging Studies (CEfAS) emerged out of the „kfdw" the cultural-scientific research group into demographic change; the kfdw team comprises 20 researchers and is a co-operation between 11 universities, both in Germany and in other countries.

The kfdw researchers come from diverse faculty contexts and operate according to differing methodical approaches.

They all have in common a focus on the theme of aging in an aging society, whilst testing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research approaches.
