Knowledge Transfer for Political Media Education

The project aims at making research findings on antifeminism on social media - especially TikTok - accessible to a wide audience. It builds on the research project 'Unlearning Anti-Feminism on TikTok', which develops practical educational programmes and Open Educational Ressources (OER) to empower youth and young adults to critically engage with social media. A central element of the knowledge transfer is the multimedia presentation of the research findings: Short videos, infographics, podcasts and OER will be used to convey in-depth content in an understandable and interactive way.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the non-profit organisation mediale pfade, which contributes its expertise in the field of political education and supports the development of innovative formats for science communication. In addition to communicating the content, the project also focuses on the active participation of the target groups: Teachers, students and multipliers in political education can use the developed materials, develop them further and integrate them into their educational work.

This open and collaborative approach ensures a sustainable transfer of knowledge and strengthens political media education in civil society. With this project, the University of Cologne and mediale pfade are making an important contribution to the promotion of democratic values and the prevention of radicalisation.
