Ethics Commission of the Faculty of Human Sciences
The Ethics Commission of the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne supports researchers of the faculty in their research projects by advising on or reviewing research ethics aspects of the planned project.
The Commission acts based on applications. Applicants may be scientists or the Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences of the University of Cologne. The Ethics Committee reviews and, if necessary, issues a statement on ethical, legal and data protection aspects of planned research projects involving humans. The responsibility of the active scientists remains unaffected.
The admissibility of an application will be decided by the Commission. Cases whose evaluation requires the professional (medical) competence of a medical ethics committee are generally rejected as inadmissible. Only applications that comply with German law can be processed.
If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact the office of the Ethics Committee by e-mail or during telephone consultation hours.
