We currently investigate the following research questions:

  • How do we generate expectancies about upcoming stimuli and how does this affect our perception, attention, and the control of motor responses?
  • What happens during these processes in the brain?
  • Is the generation of expectancies impaired in stroke patients suffering from spatial neglect?
  • How do attention and expectancies interact?

We address these questions using behavioural experiments (response time measurements), computational modelling, functional neuroimaging, neurostimulation as well as neuropsychological assessments and lesion analyses in stroke patients.
