Association for the Promotion of the Research Centre for Intercultural Studies at the University of Cologne e.V.

To support the work of the Research Center for Intercultural Studies, a support association was founded on October 27, 1999, which is open to all interested parties. The board of directors currently consists of Wolf-Dietrich Bukow, Schahrzad Farrokhzad, Lisa Rosen and Bettina Lösch. The association has set itself the goal of promoting interdisciplinary scientific exchange on issues of migration and diversity, the situation of minorities in urban coexistence, and intercultural understanding and education.
This currently includes the following areas of work:
  • Coordination of interdisciplinary research projects;
  • Promotion of research projects on relevant topics within the framework of theses, dissertations, third-party funded and own projects as well as accompanying research projects for non-university institutions (clubs, associations, initiatives, municipal institutions, etc.);
  • Promotion of the exchange between science and non-university practice on a local and regional level through research seminars, colloquia, conferences, lecture series and other offers such as databases for literature research, as well as contacts to communal institutions, initiatives and advice centers;
  • Promoting cooperation with universities, initiatives and associations on a national and international level through exchange programs, guest scholarships, guest lectureships and international conferences.
