The following courses are offered at regular intervals (in German):

(1) Bachelor

  • The political constitution of markets - subject didactic perspectives
  • Money and monetary policy (cooperation seminar with the "Bundesbank")
  • Methods and experiments in social science education
  • Consumption, money and work as topics in social science education
  • Economic thinking of the present day
  • Political and socio-economic education in science education (lecture)

(2) Master

  • Changing world of work
  • Current social phenomena from economic perspectives
  • The way to a new economy?
  • Social entrepreneurship - case studies and expert interviews
  • Socio-economic education: lines of development and perspectives
  • Globalisation reflected through the global economy
  • Analysis, evaluation and development of educational materials
  • Governance in transition - or: Privatisation as a field of socio-economics


Theses are conceivable that are dedicated to one of the following topics:

  • empirical and normative foundations of social science didactics
  • pluralism and subject orientation in political-economic education
  • initial, continuing and in-service training of teachers in the social science school subjects
  • attitudes of students
  • analysis, evaluation and development of teaching materials
  • changes of statehood (esp. privatization and recommunalization).
