Project desciption
Building on the project “Unlearning Anti-Feminism on TikTok” (UlAT), in which 13 Open Educational Resources (OER) were developed research-based, we adapt some of the materials for teacher education and make them internationally compatible. The aim is to support students in teacher education programmes, trainee teachers and in-service teachers in promoting social media literacy and dealing critically with anti-democratic, manipulative and discriminatory content on social media. The project thus contributes to the development of internationally applicable OER in the field of social media literacy and strengthens the exchange between German and Ukrainian perspectives.
Thematic focus areas
- group-focused enmity and hate speech on TikTok and other social media platforms
- fake news, influencer culture and algorithmic dynamics
- gender equality, diversity and democratic values in digital spaces
- developing strategies for teaching: storytelling, reels, creative content production
- resilience and critical digital literacy in the context of war-related disinformation
Working method
The adaptation takes place in modular OER units (Articulate Rise), which can be used flexibly in an international context. Existing materials are expanded, linguistically and culturally adapted, and didactically realigned. Particular emphasis will be placed on co-creation between the German and Ukrainian teams, ensuring that the OER reflects diverse European teacher education contexts. In addition, workshops for testing and feedback loops with teachers and students are planned. All of this is implemented in a collaborative working method that focuses on co-creation.
