Structure

Interdisciplinarity

The staff of the Research Centre see themselves as an interdisciplinary group of scientists who bring together their interest in these issues. The following subjects are involved:

Educational Science

political science

sociology

The research centre is supported by around a dozen scientists and employees - including Georg Auernheimer, Wolf-Dietrich Bukow, Christoph Butterwegge, Roberto Llaryora and Hans-Joachim Roth.

The interdisciplinary approach is an essential part of the content concept. In doing so, the participating disciplines pursue overarching thematic focuses - but each from a different perspective. A joint research process and its implementation in colloquia, conferences and publications makes it possible to bring together the various perspectives to create an exciting interrelationship and to tread new paths in research.

Networking and Cooperation

Networking and cooperation are central concerns of the research unit. Since it does not see itself as a purely academic discourse community, but also wants to contribute to the discussion "locally", networking with local actors, institutions, initiatives and associations forms an important part of its work. A continuous exchange of theory and practice as well as scientific advice and support are important activities of the Research Centre.

In addition, there are numerous cooperations with scientific institutions at home and abroad. Cooperation on an international level has become indispensable in view of increasing globalisation and transnationalisation. Contacts and partly closer cooperations exist with scientific institutions in Turkey, Portugal and Spain, France and the USA.
