Automotive: Training without barriers
Description
The primary aim of the project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, is the sustainable recruitment of apprenticeships for young people with severe disabilities. Based on an analysis of existing recruitment practices in the automotive industry that young people with severe disabilities are confronted with when applying for apprenticeships, the aim is to identify potential barriers on the part of both companies and applicants. Empirical studies indicate that these barriers can arise early on in the application process. Based on the results of these analyses, recommendations are developed for the long-term removal of barriers. The working group of representatives of severely disabled employees in the German automotive industry as well as representatives of trade unions and the social association VdK Deutschland e.V. are involved in the project as socio-political cooperation partners, among other things with information events for companies in the automotive industry.
