  The Methodspace focus for July 2022 is on Studying generations: Research with children, youth, or elderly participants. • The Discursive Construction of Reality V

  The conference The Discursive Construction of Reality V - Interdisciplinary perspectives on a sociology of knowledge approach to discourse research will take place from March 30st to 31st 2023 at the University of Augsburg. Proposals for contributions can be submitted until 15 October. For more information, please see the Call for Papers. A preliminary program will be available by October 31, 2022.

• SQIP Conference 2022

  The 2022 conference of the Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology took place on 17, 18, and 19 June. The Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology is a section of the Division 5 of the American Psychological Association and it is a society that promotes qualitative research in psychology.

• Advanced Techniques for Longitudinal Data Analysis in Social Science (ATLASS2023)

  The international conference Advanced Techniques for Longitudinal Data Analysis in Social Science on techniques and applications for longitudinal data analysis will be held in Bielefeld (Germany) from March 15 to 17, 2023. The aim is to bring together methodologists working to develop methods for evaluating and addressing specific challenges of longitudinal data. In addition, application-related contributions are very welcome.
  The conference will feature two types of presentations: posters and talks. The talks should be centered around a statistical and/or methodological aspect of longitudinal data analysis. Abstracts can be submitted until September 30, 2022. It is also possible to apply for a symposium as a group of presenters. You can find more information here.

• 10th Conference "Researching with the Microcensus"

  Here you can find the call for papers for the 10th Conference "Researching with the Microcensus". The conference will take place virtually on November 24-25, 2022. Participation is free. It is aimed both at scientists who are already working with the microcensus and at those who are planning to do so. Papers can be submitted via the conference website until July 31, 2022.

• "VON EINSCHRÄNKUNGEN ZU NEUEN PERSPEKTIVEN ERFAHRUNGEN UND REFLEXIONEN ÜBER SOZIALWISSENSCHAFTLICHE DATENERHEBUNG WÄHREND DER COVID-19-PANDEMIE"

  The COVID-19 pandemic has led to traditional methods of data collection being difficult to implement. Consequently, many social scientists have had field phases postponed, research designs redesigned and adapted to the changed framework conditions, and digital solutions were applied. These experiences raise numerous questions and make a methodological reflection necessary: ​​What have we learned in the social sciences over the past two years about data collection? What new impulses for data collection could be found in quantitative as well as qualitative research? Which solutions were taken, which compromises have been made and what are the resulting limitations? Which methodical and methodological perspectives result from this for future research? The Section for Sociological Methods and Research designs of the ÖGS invites sociologists and social researchers from neighboring disciplines (communication science, political science, educational science, etc.) from 3 to 4 November 2022 to a hybrid conference with online participation options at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.
